ABKA offers three levels of education for individuals involved in
the pet care industry. Each level is a prerequsite for the next:
LEVEL I
The
Certified Pet Care Technician (CPCT) Program is a study program
for anyone involved in commercial pet care. It assists daycare and
kennel operators, grooming shop operators, veterinary hospital
managers, their staff and their employees to develop more
professional animal care and customer service techniques.
LEVEL II
Advanced Certified Pet Care Technician (ACPCT) Program is an
intermediate program which provides more in-depth study of animal
care and customer service. There are also introductions to
supervision, management as well as business and personal
development.
LEVEL III
Certified Kennel Operator (CKO) Program is ABKA's program for
boarding kennel operators and managers which enhances professional
development through further study and certification. It focuses on
the management and professional skills that are needed to achieve
greater success in today's pet care business envronment.
