  • Q. Do I bring my own food? A. Yes! We ask you bring the food your baby is used to! This will avoid any upset tummies while staying with us!  If you forget your food we can provide our food for an additional $4.00 a day charge.
  • Q. What items should I bring with me? A. You should bring your pet’s food, treats (please do not bring rawhide or small bones that can get lodged in throat), medications in prescription bottle (if any, and whatever you use with them ie: pill pockets, hotdogs, peanut butter, etc…)!  We provide dishes for food and water. We also provide beds/bedding.  Please do not bring glass or ceramic dishes as these will break and be a safety issue! Please do not bring large blankets or comforters.
  • Q. Can I bring toys? A. Yes! You can bring up to two (2) of your babies favorite toys!
  • Q. Do you provide beds or blankets? A. Yes we do! Every room has their very own bed and blanket!
  • Q. Do you board Exotic Pets? A. Absolutely! We have boarded: rabbits, chinchillas, hedgehogs, birds, bearded dragons, gerbils, hamsters and guinea pigs and many more. If you have an exotic pet not on the list, please give us a call! With all exotics we ask that you bring their home and all necessary supplies (food, bedding, food and water bowls, treats, etc…). All exotic pets stay in the owners office as she loves to talk to them!
  • Q. What vaccines does my pet need? A. Your dog must be up to date on Rabies, DHLPP (distemper/parvo) H3N2 (new requirement we are working with you to give you time to get vaccine)  and Bordetella. Your cat must have FVRCP, Rabies and Feline Leukemia
  • Q. What’s the difference between Basic, Private and Suite? A. Standards, Privates, Luxury Suites
  • Q. Do you have a vet on staff? A. No. We do not provide vet services, although we do have a vet on call to us 24 hours a day in case of emergencies. He is Dr. Doug Berger with All Creatures Veterinary Clinic.
  • Q. What is check out time? A. Check out is 1:00 PM. Any pet picked up after 1:00 PM is charged for the day.
  • Q. How long have you been in operation? A. Thirty (30) years
  • Q. Why don’t you keep my pet’s collar and leash? A. We remove the collars for safety reasons.
  • Q. How far in advance should I make reservations? A. See Services page and Suites.
  • Q. Can you administer medication? A. Yes, we do administer medication but we do charge for each time administered. Please bring medication in the labeled prescription bottle.  Do not put medication in pill pockets or anything else it will cause medication to start desolving and make it less effective.
  • Q. Do you take pets during a hurricanes? A. Yes we do, however, at Charleston Pet Resort we offer priority hurricane boarding to our first responders. Then to our regular clients. And following that, new clients. *SPACE IS LIMITED!* Please do not wait until last minute to reserve your dog’s spot with us. **We do not take any cats, exotics, or special needs pets during hurricanes (I.E. diabetes, heart conditions, incontinence, ect.)** DOGS BOARDING DURING HURRICANE AT CHARLESTON PET RESORT:
    • Updated shot records.
    • Must bring at least 3 gallons of water per pet.
    • Must bring food in sealed container.
    • ANY CURRENT MEDICATIONS AND CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THEY ARE TO BE ADMINISTERED (I.E. LABELED PRESCIPTION PILL BOTTLE)
    • 1 pack of disposable potty pads (to be used during hurricane).
